I was one of the country’s first graduate of the Maria Montessori Method when it was first introduced in Kenya in 1983. I grasped the Montessori methodology of teaching and learned a vital aspect on how respecting the students mind helps them in stimulating and controlling the environment around them while becoming interested and enthusiastic towards learning and controlling their own environment with respect and care for others.

This is the approach we use at Embakasi High School and the school has gradually grown to became a fully-fledged secondary school with an examination centre. We have registered tremendous performances in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations maintaining a high mean average while improving on the students’ performances each year.

In extracurricular activities, we have participated in traditional events, sports meetings, inter-school games as well as athletics meetings organised by Schools associations which is a network of schools that interact together for various functions.
